Numbers and Groups Tutorial
University is a lot different from school in terms of studying and methods of learning. There’s a lot more independent working. Each degree is different, but for Maths there are a lot of contact hours. These consist of lectures and tutorials. In lectures you take notes, and there often isn’t a lot of chance for interaction. This is why it is important to go home and look over the notes to make sure you understand them. If you have any questions about the lecture notes, the tutorials are a perfect opportunity to raise them. Tutorials are more like classes you have at school. You will have questions to work on whilst you’re there, and there will be a tutor (or two) in the room to help you if you need.
